Spring Wardrobe Essentials 2017

We’re only officially two weeks into Spring, but I’ve already made it my mission to clean out my closet and make some extra space for all the new clothes I want to buy. The Spring 2017 trends are hands-down my favorite compared to all other years (besides denim skirts and platform flip flops circa 2005 lol). I mean we’re talkin’ over the shoulder everything, florals, embroidery, ripped denim, and all things “Millennial Pink”. Speaking of — It’s about time someone came up with a term to describe the mix of dusty rose, baby pink, and salmon that’s been trending hardcore lately!

There are so many things I’ve been itching to buy this season, so consider these items my spring wardrobe essentials slash personal wish list all wrapped up into one. I’ve rounded up the pieces I feel are on trend, but also serve as great staples to have when building your spring wardrobe. There’s a mix of affordable pieces and lust-worthy items (a.k.a the Chloe leather shoulder bag *swoons*). Obviously, I’m NOT down to spend $2,000 on a purse right now (or any singular item for that matter), so I’ve linked some great dupes that will give you the same look but for way less money.

Denim Jacket
If you don’t already have a denim jacket, you need to add this to your spring wardrobe. They’re timeless, great for layering, and perfect to have on-hand as we start to transition into the warmer months. This one from H&M is only $35 and comes in 3 different washes. So versatile and a definite essential.

Plain White Tee
This one really warrants no explanation, but if there’s nothing else you get from this post, I hope you grasp the importance of basics basics basics. Just like you can never have too many pairs of black leggings, same goes for white t-shirts. This one from Nordstrom is super affordable, perfectly oversized, and once you feel how soft it is, you’ll instantly be hooked. Trust me.

Strappy Sandals
Each spring I like to add another pair of sandals to my collection. This year its tassels, criss-cross straps, and bright colors galore! I’m not really one for bright colored shoes, so I usually end up sticking to cognacs and taupes because they go with anything. Below are a few of my favorites, simply click to shop!

Express Straw Tassel Sandal   Steve Madden Carolyn Lace Up Sandal          Dolce Vita Jasmyn Ghillie Sandal

Now I know these aviators are black on black, which may seem slightly odd for the springtime, but I’m obsessed with how they look. By now we all probably have our fair share of bright mirrored aviators or oversized tortoiseshell sunnies, so these make for the perfect addition, and they’re only $14!

Panama Hat
If you love the look of a straw hat but want something you can wear on a daily basis, then you definitely need a Panama hat.  Pair this with white jeans, a gray tee, and a denim jacket and you’re good to go.

Oversized Cardigan
Though the weather is starting to warm up, April showers is still a thing! Having a lightweight cardigan on hand to help keep you warm during the cooler days is a must! I’m loving the look of oversized cardigans, and this one from Free People has been on my lust list all season.

Ripped Jeans
I love love love these high waisted Levi’s, and every other blogger seems to think so too (see here, here, and here). Revolve finally restocked them, so be sure to get a pair before they sell out again!

Neutral Purse
I never look at designer purses long enough to actually want them, because I’m just not in that stage of life where I can justify spending practically a whole month’s paycheck on a purse. However, I’ve low-key been eyeing this Chloe bag for months now. It’s the perfect everyday bag and it comes in taupe! They have a ton of different sizes and colors so there really is something for everyone. I’ve never been a fan of knock-offs, but there’s actually a few great dupes for this purse. This review is what sold me. Pretty legit right?

Hoop Earrings
If you haven’t seen Target’s recent jewelry collab with BaubleBar, you’re missing out! Their line Sugarfix offers the same stylish pieces as BaubleBar, but at a fraction of the cost. Hoop earrings look good year-round, but they’re definitely more fun to style in the spring.

Nude Sneakers
Sneakers are continuing to be v trendy, and though everyone is currently rocking Adidas Superstars, I prefer the NMDs. Problem is, they’re sold out everywhere and are super hard to find. I have at least 5 different pages bookmarked, so if you want to know when they re-stock, make sure you’re following me on Instagram to stay in the loop.
